- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and write required
- One to two years as cook in a large scale cooking operation preferred
- Must be able to work weekends
- Experienced cook in healthcare facility preferred

Job Duties
- Review menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared
- Prepare all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner
- Use nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required
- Operate a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet
- Wash, peel, cut and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare for use
- Test and observe food by tasting for palatability
- Slice portions of meat for individual servings
- Follow recipes
- Add gravies, sauces and garnishes as required
- Prepare and assist with special function meals
- Complete work assignments
