Job Requirements
- Experience in a healthcare food service setting preferred
- long-term care experience a plus
- must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies
- must be able to maintain consistent attendance and work long or irregular hours
- must comply with all local health regulations and complete a post-offer health assessment
- must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation
- ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- ability to perform physical activities such as walking, bending, lifting
- adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare food service setting preferred
- knowledge of long-term care dietary requirements a plus
- ability to comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
- good communication skills to interact positively with residents, families, and staff
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- understanding of sanitation and infection control procedures
- basic knowledge of nutrition and dietetic practices
- ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established menus and prescribed diet plans
- direct and assist with cleaning and sanitation of work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils
- distribute menus and verify meal trays for accuracy and compliance with diet preferences
- ensure proper storage of food and supplies and adhere to sanitary, safety, and infection control policies
- demonstrate compliance with residents' rights regulations and promote these standards
- assist Dietary Manager with supervision of Dietary Aides
- review and process diet changes, ensure menus comply with procedures, coordinate dietary services with other departments, and review menus prior to food preparation
- ensure adequate food and supplies for upcoming meals and assist with inventory management
- attend training sessions, educational programs, staff meetings, and assist with orientation and training of new staff
- perform other duties as assigned
