Job Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- ServSafe Certification required within six months of employment
- Prior food production experience preferred
- Ability to work full-time including weekend and holiday rotations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and modify meals as necessary
- Ability to document temperatures and take corrective actions
- Ability to work collaboratively with dietary and clinical staff
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking supplies and handling food deliveries
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- ServSafe Certification must be completed and obtained within six (6) months of employment
- Prior food production experience preferred
- Effective English communication in verbal and written format
- Basic computer proficiency
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to learn and improve through ongoing training
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Customer service skills
Job Duties
- Delivers high-quality food production in a timely manner while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
- Prepares food according to diet extension recipes and food production sheets, modifying as needed for special diets (e.g., cardiac, diabetic, renal, soft)
- Ensures food safety and sanitation by following infection control procedures, documenting temperatures, and taking corrective action when necessary
- Follows proper food handling, cooling, labeling, storage, and rotation practices in compliance with health department and organizational standards
- Monitors food appearance and quality prior to service and utilizes leftovers effectively by creating special or marketable products
- Coordinates meal production to meet scheduled patient meal delivery times
- Takes patient food orders via telephone and provides exceptional customer service to patients and customers
