Job Duties
- General responsibilities
- Residents rights
- Safety
- Staff development
- Food preparation/production responsibilities
- Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared
- Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum of waste
- Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required
- Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet
- Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare for use
- Tests and observes food by tasting for palatability
- Slices portions of meat for individual servings
- Follows recipes
- Add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required
- Prepares and assists with special function meals
- Completes work assignments
