Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to read and write
  • one to two years cooking experience in a large scale operation preferred
  • knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
  • ability to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to read and write required
  • one to two years experience as a cook in a large scale cooking operation preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow standardized recipes
  • skill in operating various kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes
  • operate kitchen utensils and equipment such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, and tilt skillet
  • wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits
  • test and observe food by tasting for palatability
  • follow recipes and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required
  • prepare and assist with special function meals
  • complete work assignments efficiently
