Job Requirements

  • ability to follow detailed food preparation and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior dietary experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or memory care setting preferred
  • one year of experience as a cook in a large-scale cooking operation preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • professional image in appearance and behavior
  • passion for working with seniors
  • flexible and energetic personality

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve meals according to the menu
  • monitor methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning
  • provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents to maintain and enhance overall health
  • ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food service regulations
  • maintain quality food service and nutrition care standards
  • assist in keeping the kitchen area clean and sanitary
  • communicate effectively with team members and residents
