Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- At least one year of experience in a similar position preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to follow oral, written and verbal instructions
- Ability to function independently and make independent decisions when warranted
- Ability to read recipes and menus
- Organized and neat work habits
- Genuine interest in geriatric work and willingness to serve residents and facility
- Personal integrity and tactfulness in dealing with others
- Ability to work harmoniously with dietary and facility personnel
- Judgment in prioritizing tasks
- Ability to protect confidential information and maintain corporate compliance

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve residents' daily meals according to standardized recipes and menus
- Suggest menu changes and alternate items to utilize leftovers and supplies
- Taste and assess food quality and palatability
- Maintain and record assigned temperatures daily
- Direct and supervise dietary aides as appropriate
- Ensure food is ready and served on time
- Follow temperature regulations in food preparation, serving, and storage
