Job Description
Sequel Youth and Family Services of Tuskegee is a specialized intensive residential treatment facility that provides comprehensive and trauma-informed care for male adolescents ages 12 to 18. This facility focuses on helping youths who face serious emotional and behavioral challenges that hamper their ability to function effectively in family, school, or community settings outside of a residential environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in institutional cooking or similar role
- Adequate reading and comprehension skills
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication skills
- Current certification in Blood Borne Pathogens, Infection Control, and Environment of Care
- Flexibility to work 22 hours per week including 1-2 weekends per month
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in institutional cooking or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Adequate reading skills to utilize data from menus
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and menus
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
- Current certification in Blood Borne Pathogens, Infection Control, and Environment of Care
- Additional certification and training as required by the employer
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents
- Follow posted menus to ensure meal compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Comply with health and safety protocols including blood borne pathogens and infection control
- Communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and supervisors to ensure meal service runs smoothly
- Support the Kitchen Supervisor with daily operations and inventory management
- Attend required trainings to keep certifications current and skills updated
