Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior dietary experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or medical care setting highly preferred
  • One year of experience as a cook in a large-scale cooking operation highly preferred
  • Professional image in both appearance and behavior
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for working with seniors
  • Energetic and flexible personality

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve meals according to the menu
  • Monitor methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning
  • Provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local food service regulations
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to meet residents' nutritional needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
