Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • One year experience in customer service, diet office, dietetic field, or call center preferred
  • Food Handlers Permit accredited by Texas Department of State Health Services or American National Standards Institute
  • Demonstrates skills and competencies through ongoing assessments and evaluations
  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, maintain accurate records, and handle complaints
  • Skilled in problem-solving and productivity improvement
  • Competent in standard software applications and departmental software system
  • Ability to work independently and listen well
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and use good judgment in decision-making

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education

Job Duties

  • Perform customer-oriented activities related to obtaining room service orders
  • Enter meal selections via departmental computerized software
  • Take diet orders from patients and explain diets and food choices
  • Assist with patient tray assembly
  • Organize menus by unit and supplement menus for unplaced meals
  • Calculate, deliver, and track nutrition products to patient bedside or care units
  • Follow all department policies and comply with local food ordinances
  • Communicate with dietitians, patients, family members, and nursing staff for order clarification
  • Resolve patient dining service issues and complaints
  • Maintain accurate records and complete monthly reporting
  • Inventory and manage nutrition product supplies
  • Promote teamwork and contribute to improving department engagement and patient satisfaction scores
