Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in healthcare or senior living food service
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Understanding of food safety regulations
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM with rotating holidays and no weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care facility strongly preferred
  • Understanding of therapeutic diets (e.g., diabetic, cardiac, low-sodium, texture-modified)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to food service in healthcare settings
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (or ability to obtain)

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with physician-ordered diets and nutritional guidelines
  • Collaborate with the facility's dietitian and nursing staff to accommodate individual dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in all kitchen operations
  • Supervise and train dietary staff to ensure efficient, safe, and compassionate service
  • Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and aligned with seasonal ingredients and resident preferences
  • Monitor portion control and minimize food waste
  • Maintain accurate records of food production, temperatures, and inventory
