Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Florida Food Handlers Certification within 2 weeks of hire
- ability to work PRN shifts, primarily days
- strong customer service skills
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- willingness to provide friendly and courteous service to patients
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in food service or healthcare preferred
- Florida Food Handlers Certification within 2 weeks of hire
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- knowledge of dietary restrictions and patient care standards
- customer service experience
Job Duties
- Take patients menu selections prior to each meal
- assemble trays according to patient’s menu on tray tickets in a timely and accurate manner
- deliver trays and pick up used trays on assigned units
- comply with dietary restrictions on special and modified diets
- offer menu alternatives based on prescribed diet accommodating food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences
- interact with nursing staff to ensure accuracy of diet prescriptions and fulfillment of patient food needs
- deliver food between meals as requested
