Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or patient catering preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients
- Florida Food Handlers Certification within 2 weeks of hire
- Ability to follow dietary instructions accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical aspects of the job
- Commitment to patient satisfaction and teamwork
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service or healthcare catering preferred
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and modified diets
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
- Understand and comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Florida Food Handlers Certification obtained within two weeks of hire
Job Duties
- Take patients menu selections prior to each meal
- Comply with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences within guidelines of diet order limitations
- Offer alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet considering food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences
- Assemble trays according to patients menu on tray tickets in a timely and accurate manner
- Deliver food trays to patients and collect trays after meals
- Interact with nursing staff to ensure accuracy of patients diet prescriptions and meet their food needs
- Provide friendly, caring communication while introducing the Catering to You program and during catering rounds
