Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Courteous and friendly at all times
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours or longer
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull food carts and other food utility supplies up to 50lbs
  • Ability to deal tactfully and respectfully with residents and staff
  • Ability to follow instructions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods
  • Serve and deliver food to residents as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas as assigned
  • Properly store food utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage
  • Transport/deliver food/beverage items to assigned residents
  • Assist Lead Porter or other staff in lifting or transporting large utilities within the kitchen area
  • Load/operate dishwasher machine
  • Ensure proper temperature, chemical supplies, and clean water levels are maintained for proper sanitation
