Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in dietary aide, cook, or related role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long durations and lift heavy items
- Willingness to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary training or certification preferred
- Proven experience as a Dietary Aide, Cook, or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping
Job Duties
- Assist in preparing and serving meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and suitable for residents' dietary needs
- Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality
- Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner, accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to established standards
- Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, notifying supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies
- Assist with menu planning and development under the direction of the Dietary Manager
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items
- Assist with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up as needed
