Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in dietary aide or cook role preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow dietary guidelines and recipes accurately
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
- availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- culinary training or certification preferred
- proven experience as a dietary aide, cook, or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment
- knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping
Job Duties
- Assist in preparing and serving meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and suitable for residents' dietary needs
- follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality
- serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner, accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
- clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to established standards
- maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, notifying supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies
- assist with menu planning and development under the direction of the Dietary Manager
- adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items
- assist with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up as needed
