Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in dietary aide or cook roles preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Culinary training or certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a Dietary Aide, Cook, or similar role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and suitable for residents' dietary needs
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality
  • Serve meals to residents in a courteous and professional manner, accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to established standards
  • Maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, notifying supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies
  • Assist with menu planning and development under the direction of the Dietary Manager
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food items
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen clean-up as needed
