Job Requirements
- Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
- must be able to read and follow simple instructions
- must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
- must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
- must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
- must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects
- must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours at a time
- must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
- must be organized and willing to work well with other team members
- must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Serve resident and guest meals courteously
- clean and reset dining room following meal service
- assist residents with placing orders from the menu
- provide beverage service including water, iced tea, juices, milk, and coffee or tea
- refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
- report broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
- understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques
- have basic knowledge of food preparation such as salads and desserts
- practice proper food storage and labeling
- sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
- attend required in-services and staff meetings
- complete other assigned duties
- assist residents with special needs including mobility deficits and memory impairment
- assist with tray service
- follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information
- interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors
