Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
- must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
- must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and work areas

- must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and liquids
- must possess the ability to seek out new methods and incorporate them with management approval
- must follow dietary uniform
- must be able to handle prolonged standing, bending, and turning
- must be able to handle repetitive motion during serving, portioning, washing
- must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others
- must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress
- must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics to meet job requirements
- must function independently and work well with residents and personnel
- must be in good general health and emotionally stable
- must be able to relate and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile individuals
- must be able to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 40 pounds
- stock personnel may lift up to 50 pounds
- must be able to assist in resident evacuation during emergencies
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent desired
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism
- ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government personnel
- ability to maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas

- ability to follow written and oral instructions regarding cleaning and food preparation

- ability to handle prolonged standing, bending, and repetitive motion
- ability to maintain flexibility, personal integrity, and work effectively with residents and personnel

Job Duties
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- assist in serving meals on a timely basis
- serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties
- clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers
- sweep and mop floors as directed
- carry soiled utensils to wash area
- return clean utensils to proper storage area
- wash and clean utensils as directed
- carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment
- set up meal trays, food carts, dining room as instructed
- assist cook in preparing meals
- distribute and collect menus as necessary
- obtain food supplies for next meal
- ensure special trays are correct
- deliver food carts to designated areas
- serve food in dining room as instructed
- perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures
- remove food trays from carts and dining rooms
- prepare and deliver snacks as instructed
- complete necessary records accurately and promptly
- make authorized food substitutions
- assist in food preparation for special meals
- all other duties as assigned
