Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at an 8th-grade level
  • high school graduate preferred
  • Serve Safe certification preferred
  • food service experience in a healthcare facility preferred
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to read and comprehend patient meal ticket information
  • ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • physical stamina for frequent movement and standing
  • basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Job Duties

  • Follow proper hygiene and safety protocols including hand washing, glove usage, and HACCP guidelines
  • maintain a sanitary and safe work environment
  • provide courteous customer service and communicate effectively
  • prepare and deliver food trays accurately and efficiently
  • operate dishwashing equipment and maintain cleanliness
  • assist with food production, cafeteria service, and cashiering
  • complete required training and adhere to departmental standards
  • comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
  • attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required
  • demonstrate use of quality improvement in daily operations
  • comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements
  • respect diverse views and contribute to an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance
  • maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • perform other similar and related duties as required or directed
