Job Requirements
- Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- No prior experience required, on-the-job training is provided
- Ability to follow directions and dietary orders
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, residents, and staff
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and following safety regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible shifts
Job Qualifications
- Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- Previous food service and/or food preparation experience preferred
- Long term care dietary experience is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow established dietary and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Follows diet orders and NPO diet orders
- Assists cook in preparing meals, desserts and/or snacks for patients/residents
- Uses proper food handling processes, procedures and policies
- Delivers trays to patients/residents on halls
- Delivers and serves meals to patients/residents in dining area including food and beverages
- Prepares between-meal nourishments such as sandwiches and serves in accordance with procedural guidelines
- Offers menu substitutions and records them in accordance with procedural guidelines
