Job Requirements
- sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- ability to follow diet orders and procedural guidelines
- capacity to perform cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of equipment
- compliance with safety regulations, including infection control and fire prevention
- ability to operate kitchen equipment like coffee/tea maker, dish machine, meat slicer, blender
- strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients/residents and families
- willingness to participate in educational programs and mandatory in-services
Job Qualifications
- sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- previous food service and/or food preparation experience preferred
- long term care dietary experience is preferred
- ability to communicate well with patients, residents, clients, and family members
- knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- capacity to follow established safety regulations and infection control policies
Job Duties
- assists cook in preparing meals, desserts, and/or snacks for patients/residents
- delivers trays to patients/residents on halls
- delivers and serves meals to patients/residents in dining area
- prepares between-meal nourishments and serves according to procedural guidelines
- offers menu substitutions and records them accordingly
- follows procedures for serving partner meals
- cleans tables and work areas after meals and at end of shifts
