Job Requirements

  • Must have or obtain Food Handler's Card
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to follow safety protocols and food handling regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in long-term care environment preferred
  • ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card
  • positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Set up the dining room and serve residents
  • assist the cook team in the preparation and service of meals and beverages using specific procedures
  • maintain strict sanitation and quality standards
  • store food safely and hygienically while working to prevent food spoilage
  • accurately record meals served and monitor food temperatures
  • clean assigned dining and food preparation areas using mandated procedures and following set schedules
  • wash dishes and utensils according to the required standards of practice
  • other responsibilities as assigned
