Job Duties
- Prepares and maintains serving lines including dishes, silverware, hot and cold food items, condiments, etc
- assembles cold food items such as salads, desserts, and nourishments and ensures proper storage, refrigeration, and dating of food items
- serves food as directed, replenishing items as needed
- disassembles and cleans food stations after use
- sets up and operates cash register station and handles cash accurately
- counts and balances cash register, records totals, and deposits money appropriately
- performs routine and heavy-duty cleaning of pots, pans, utensils, and other equipment
- operates dishwasher and stores clean equipment orderly
- cleans major kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, dish machines, steam tables, and mixers
- transports refuse and other materials safely using carts
- maintains sanitary conditions through cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and operating floor cleaner
- sets up and delivers food carts to patient areas and retrieves and cleans carts
- strips and sorts soiled trays and equipment
- assembles patient trays accurately and quickly according to dietary requirements
- delivers trays verifying patient identity
- participates in quality monitoring activities such as temperature checks
- assists with additional tasks as required
