Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a food service or healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and carry throughout the workday
- Good fine motor skills and visual acuity
- Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
- Willingness to work flexible hours including potential overtime
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Willingness to work with and understanding of geriatric residents and their needs
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to take direction and constructive criticism
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisor and fellow employees
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
Job Duties
- Assure accurate tray set up of meal service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of flatware, dishware, pots and pans
- Sanitize kitchen equipment and kitchen environment
- Prepare meal specials in accordance with regulations and therapeutic diets
- Adhere to food safety standards and service schedules
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, staff, residents, family members, and visitors
- Follow facility policies and federal and state regulations
