Job Requirements
- sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- no prior experience required, on-the-job training is provided
- ability to follow dietary and food safety procedures
- good communication skills
- physical ability to perform cleaning and food service tasks
- willingness to comply with infection control and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy
- previous food service and/or food preparation experience preferred
- long term care dietary experience preferred
- ability to communicate well with patients, residents, clients, and family members in a professional manner
- willingness to participate in mandatory training and continuing education
- ability to comply with infection control, safety and corporate compliance policies
Job Duties
- follows diet orders and npo diet orders
- assists cook in preparing meals, desserts and/or snacks for patients/residents
- uses proper food handling processes, procedures and policies
- delivers trays to patients/residents on halls
- delivers and serves meals to patients/residents in dining area
- prepares between-meal nourishments and serves in accordance with procedural guidelines
- offers menu substitutions and records them in accordance with procedural guidelines
