Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical information
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work with residents, families and staff effectively
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures

- Must meet general health requirements including TB screening and physical exam
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience working in kitchen environments serving large groups preferred
- Ability to read, speak and understand English

Job Duties
- Set-up trays with proper dishes, glasses, cups and eating utensils for meals including correct assistive feeding devices as per tray card
- Prepare hot and cold foods and beverages following recipes and posted menus for regular, modified and therapeutic diets
- Serve food for meal delivery
- Read tray card and check carefully for allergies, food likes/dislikes, and specific instructions
- Ensure correct type and amount of beverages and food textures on trays
- Maintain correct portion control and add correct condiments
- Assist with social dining/meal service if required
- Clean food preparation utensils, dishes, and areas after use
- Follow posted cleaning schedules and procedures
- Practice infection control and safety policies
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and disaster situations
- Communicate courteously with facility personnel, residents, and public
- Attend in-service education and staff meetings
- Demonstrate respect for the rights and dignity of each resident
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
- Perform other duties as assigned by Cook or Dietary Services Supervisor
