Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work various shifts including day and evening
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting as required
  • attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • good interpersonal skills
  • willingness to comply with health regulations and dietary guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • experience in dietary or food service roles preferred
  • knowledge of portion control and dietary regulations
  • ability to follow dietary instructions and work collaboratively in a team
  • good communication and organizational skills
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Work with the Cook to implement recommended changes
  • assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians
  • assure that food is available for preparation by cooks
  • recognize and respond to dietary emergencies, and document observations, interventions and outcomes
  • complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies to assure control of equipment and supplies
  • assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served
  • meet with the Dietary Supervisor to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and improvement of services
  • assist the Cook in preparation of food
  • serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in accordance with portion control procedures and therapeutic diets
  • inspect diet trays for accuracy, portion control, appealing layout
  • evaluate kitchen and dietary area for upkeep, supply control, cleanliness and safety
  • operate the dishwasher and clean the kitchen area and equipment
  • report disrepair of dietary equipment, supplies
