Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ability to work various shifts including day and evening
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting as required
- attention to detail and commitment to food safety
- good interpersonal skills
- willingness to comply with health regulations and dietary guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- experience in dietary or food service roles preferred
- knowledge of portion control and dietary regulations
- ability to follow dietary instructions and work collaboratively in a team
- good communication and organizational skills
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
Job Duties
- Work with the Cook to implement recommended changes
- assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians
- assure that food is available for preparation by cooks
- recognize and respond to dietary emergencies, and document observations, interventions and outcomes
- complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies to assure control of equipment and supplies
- assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served
- meet with the Dietary Supervisor to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and improvement of services
- assist the Cook in preparation of food
- serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in accordance with portion control procedures and therapeutic diets
- inspect diet trays for accuracy, portion control, appealing layout
- evaluate kitchen and dietary area for upkeep, supply control, cleanliness and safety
- operate the dishwasher and clean the kitchen area and equipment
- report disrepair of dietary equipment, supplies
