Job Requirements
- Must be punctual and dependable with attendance
- Must follow nutritional services dress code and maintain good personal hygiene
- Ability to use large kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to read and understand dietary information and recipes
- Exposure to kitchen noise, vibration, and infectious hazards
- Ability to lift between 10 to 75 pounds as required
- Must comply with safety policies including voluntary protection and risk management programs
- Must respect resident rights and confidentiality
- Must be able to utilize a computer for tracking food and fluid intake
- Willingness to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food service or dietary assistance preferred
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions in English
- Basic computer skills for recording food and fluid intake
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and accept supervision and constructive criticism
- Physical ability to lift and move weights up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards in a food production environment
Job Duties
- Assist in the production and distribution of food and beverages in proper quantities
- Follow all safety and sanitary procedures including the use of protective equipment
- Operate large kitchen equipment such as food processors, blenders, microwaves, and dishwashers
- Read and comprehend dietary information, tray cards, recipes and special event requisitions
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Attend in-service training programs regularly to stay informed about new procedures
- Report any incidents of abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor
