Job Requirements

  • Must be punctual and dependable with attendance
  • Must follow nutritional services dress code and maintain good personal hygiene
  • Ability to use large kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to read and understand dietary information and recipes
  • Exposure to kitchen noise, vibration, and infectious hazards
  • Ability to lift between 10 to 75 pounds as required
  • Must comply with safety policies including voluntary protection and risk management programs
  • Must respect resident rights and confidentiality
  • Must be able to utilize a computer for tracking food and fluid intake
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or dietary assistance preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions in English
  • Basic computer skills for recording food and fluid intake
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accept supervision and constructive criticism
  • Physical ability to lift and move weights up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards in a food production environment

Job Duties

  • Assist in the production and distribution of food and beverages in proper quantities
  • Follow all safety and sanitary procedures including the use of protective equipment
  • Operate large kitchen equipment such as food processors, blenders, microwaves, and dishwashers
  • Read and comprehend dietary information, tray cards, recipes and special event requisitions
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Attend in-service training programs regularly to stay informed about new procedures
  • Report any incidents of abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor
