Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • previous health care experience or demonstrated knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • professionalism and interpersonal skills
  • flexibility to work a variety of shifts and schedules

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent highly preferred
  • additional college training in dietetics or related field preferred
  • knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
  • strong priority setting and organizational skills
  • ability to remain calm under stressful situations
  • professionalism and ability to establish rapport with patients, family, staff, and physicians
  • flexibility to work variable shifts

Job Duties

  • Exhibits Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards including friendliness and courtesy
  • promotes a culture of safety by adhering to workplace policies and procedures
  • visits patients to assist with menu selections
  • responds to patient needs and requests promptly
  • demonstrates knowledge of special modified diets and department policies
  • effectively uses patient care and diet office management systems
  • checks patient trays for accuracy during meal service
