Job Requirements
- Education: high school graduate or equivalent highly preferred
- Additional college training in dietetics or related field preferred
- Must know how to read, write and speak English
- Previous health care experience or demonstrated knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
- Demonstrates priority setting, organizational skills and the ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- Possesses a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish good rapport with patients, family members, staff and physicians
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and variable schedules
- Position is eligible to all candidates 16+ in age

Job Duties
- Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see
- Promotes a culture of safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients
- Visits all patients as assigned assisting the patient or family member with menu selections
- Responds to patient needs, requests in a timely manner
- Demonstrates knowledge of special modified diets using department policies and procedures to assure patient receives the diet ordered
- Effectively utilizes all appropriate computer systems including Patient Care System, CBORD Diet Office Management, Palm Pilot for Bedside Menu Entry, ATK and Personal Registrar
- Checks patient trays for accuracy during meal service
