Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- minimum age of 16 years
- knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
- ability to read, write and speak English
- previous healthcare experience preferred
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to work flexible shifts including 12-hour day shifts
- professionalism and ability to work well with diverse populations
- adherence to all organizational policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent highly preferred
- additional college training in dietetics or related field preferred
- must know how to read, write and speak English
- previous health care experience or demonstrated knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
- demonstrates priority setting, organizational skills and ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- possesses a high level of professionalism and ability to establish good rapport with patients, family members, staff and physicians
- flexibility to work a variety of shifts and variable schedules
Job Duties
- Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see
- promotes a culture of safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients
- visits all patients as assigned assisting the patient or family member with menu selections
- responds to patient needs, requests in a timely manner
- demonstrates knowledge of special modified diets using department policies and procedures to assure patient receives the diet ordered
- effectively utilizes all appropriate computer systems including Patient Care System, CBORD Diet Office Management, Palm Pilot for Bedside Menu Entry, ATK and Personal Registrar
- checks patient trays for accuracy during meal service
