Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic
  • must possess a valid driver’s license
  • manual dexterity and experience with hand tools
  • ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, with long periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting
  • ability to work safely, with excellent attention to detail
  • must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • ASE Diesel Certification helpful but not required
  • PA State Inspection License is a plus
  • associates degree in heavy truck technology helpful but not required
  • minimum of 1 year experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic
  • must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Class A License is a major plus
  • possess an in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
  • manual dexterity and experience with hand tools
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Perform preventative maintenance measures on trucks and trailers
  • assembling and disassembling vehicle engines and cleaning fuel tanks
  • maintaining hubs and axles, adjusting or replacing as required
  • ability to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • maintains brake, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • repairs and replaces vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions
  • compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, reports findings to management
  • works with a sense of urgency and accuracy to keep fleet operational and safe at all times
  • test drives fleet to gauge performance
  • supports with parts inventory, cleanliness and safety of the shop environment
  • ensures tools, parts, and other equipment are in safe and operational condition
  • maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards
