Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic
- must possess a valid driver’s license
- manual dexterity and experience with hand tools
- ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, with long periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting
- ability to work safely, with excellent attention to detail
- must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- ASE Diesel Certification helpful but not required
- PA State Inspection License is a plus
- associates degree in heavy truck technology helpful but not required
- minimum of 1 year experience as a tractor/trailer mechanic
- must possess a valid driver’s license
- Class A License is a major plus
- possess an in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
- manual dexterity and experience with hand tools
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent organizational skills
Job Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance measures on trucks and trailers
- assembling and disassembling vehicle engines and cleaning fuel tanks
- maintaining hubs and axles, adjusting or replacing as required
- ability to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- maintains brake, electrical and hydraulic systems
- repairs and replaces vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions
- compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, reports findings to management
- works with a sense of urgency and accuracy to keep fleet operational and safe at all times
- test drives fleet to gauge performance
- supports with parts inventory, cleanliness and safety of the shop environment
- ensures tools, parts, and other equipment are in safe and operational condition
- maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards
