Job Requirements
- Maintain a safe work environment
- drive and operate a forklift
- operate overhead crane
- transport dies between storage and presses
- clean and grease dies
- review schedule and plan daily work agenda
- operate a sandblast booth and a steam clean machine
- preassemble or disassemble tooling set-ups as required to specified procedures
- able to use a sledge hammer as part of assembly disassembly
- load and unload dies from car bottom furnaces
- assist in die set-ups at the press
- return dies to correct locations in die storage
- maintain computerized die inventory and perform audits
- maintain die storage
- assure quality and production requirements are met
- participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement
- participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required
- participate in departments 5s program
- maintain an acceptable attendance record
- must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
- maintain a clean and orderly work area
- take strong ownership of work in progress and communicate with co-workers, leads, supervisors and managers as needed
- comply with all APP, Inc. safety rules and company policies
- demonstrate a firm commitment to achieving APP’s key results
- report any equipment or facility defect(s) to lead, supervisor or manager
- ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported per APP’s safety policy
Job Qualifications
- Completed high school
- must be a certified forklift operator
- previous forging experience is preferred but not required
- able to read and understand instructions
- blueprint knowledge is a plus
- in compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US citizen or US person
