Job Requirements

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • drive and operate a forklift
  • operate overhead crane
  • transport dies between storage and presses
  • clean and grease dies
  • review schedule and plan daily work agenda
  • operate sandblast booth and steam clean machine
  • preassemble and disassemble tooling set-ups
  • use sledge hammer for assembly disassembly
  • load and unload dies from car bottom furnaces
  • assist in die set-ups at the press
  • return dies to correct storage locations
  • maintain computerized die inventory and perform audits
  • maintain die storage
  • assure quality and production requirements are met
  • participate in total quality management projects
  • participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities
  • participate in department 5S program
  • maintain an acceptable attendance record
  • operate in a drug-free workplace
  • maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • take strong ownership of work in progress and communicate effectively
  • comply with all APP safety rules and company policies
  • demonstrate commitment to achieving APP’s key results
  • report any equipment or facility defects
  • promptly report any accidents or injuries per policy

Job Qualifications

  • Completed high school
  • certified forklift operator
  • previous forging experience preferred
  • three months related manufacturing or production experience
  • able to read and understand instructions
  • blue print knowledge is a plus
  • US citizen or US person in compliance with ITAR regulations

Job Duties

  • Transport dies between storage and presses
  • load dies onto forging press
  • maintain die storage
  • perform die setups
  • operate forklift
  • operate overhead crane
  • clean and grease dies
  • review schedule and plan daily work agenda
  • operate sandblast booth and steam clean machine
  • preassemble and disassemble tooling set-ups
  • use sledge hammer for assembly disassembly
