Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire
- Successful completion of USRC training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
- Patient Care Technician certification obtained through state or national program within 18 months of hire
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need
- Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus
- Successful completion of USRC training program and competency demonstration
- Completion of USRC training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
- Patient Care Technician certification obtained within 18 months of hire and maintained
- Ability to distinguish all primary colors
- Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
Job Duties
- Work directly with patients to provide safe and high-quality dialysis treatment
- Gather patient stats before and after treatment
- Initiate dialysis treatment and monitor patients during the procedure
- Terminate treatment and collect patient blood samples per physician orders
- Prepare and disinfect hemodialysis machines
- Conduct machine safety checks and log results
- Use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education
