Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire
  • Successful completion of USRC training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
  • Patient Care Technician certification obtained through state or national program within 18 months of hire
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors
  • Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need
  • Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus
  • Successful completion of USRC training program and competency demonstration
  • Completion of USRC training course in theory and practice of hemodialysis
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire or as required by the state
  • Patient Care Technician certification obtained within 18 months of hire and maintained
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors
  • Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol

Job Duties

  • Work directly with patients to provide safe and high-quality dialysis treatment
  • Gather patient stats before and after treatment
  • Initiate dialysis treatment and monitor patients during the procedure
  • Terminate treatment and collect patient blood samples per physician orders
  • Prepare and disinfect hemodialysis machines
  • Conduct machine safety checks and log results
  • Use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education
