Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail or food service
- strong customer service skills
- leadership capability with experience managing or supervising teams
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- capability to handle physical tasks including lifting and moving merchandise
- flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 1+ years of equivalent experience and training
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- ability to think critically
- retail experience strongly preferred
- knowledge of produce and nonperishables products preferred
- ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
- ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of Company policy
- assist with the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and financial results of the department
- assist to manage staff in a manner consistent with Di Bruno Bros. Servant Leadership Philosophy
- assist to establish performance goals, allocate resources and assess policies for department Associates
- assist to conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and administer rewards and discipline as necessary
- assist to coach and motivate Associates to foster ongoing development and help them reach their potential
- ensure compliance of Associates with established policies, procedures and practices
- assist to monitor department budget and payroll including COG, labor and expenses, taking action when necessary to meet all sales and profitability goals
- oversee quality standards
- assist in conducting continuous inspections and testing of all products to ensure that Company standards are met
- assist to ensure that all federal, state, local and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, sanitation and weights and measures are met
- maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
- maintain the highest level of standards in product display and preparation
- sell and serve Coffee Bar foods
- initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
- assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
- participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
- adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices
- communicate any customer special requests to management
- communicate with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service
