Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including walking, standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects
- willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- good communication skills
- must be able to work the 3rd shift
- ability to wear personal protective equipment
- valid work authorization
Job Qualifications
- The custodian reports to the Lead Custodian and the Custodial Supervisor
- cares for the main building, facilities, and equipment
- strong follow-through on delegated tasks
- ability to operate and use tools and equipment
- ability to follow oral or written instructions
- maintain a positive attitude
- good client and customer service skills
- ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- ability to work effectively independently or with a team
- basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and cleaning products
Job Duties
- Collect trash and replace garbage liners
- clean garbage receptacles as required
- ability to work between multiple locations
- dust and clean all furniture, fixtures, and horizontal surfaces
- vacuum carpeted areas
- mop tile and concrete floor areas
- wash, disinfect, and restock all restrooms
- empty trash in all washrooms
- clean mirrors, walls, and toilet partitions
- clean window sills and windows
- perform or report minor maintenance repairs
- maintain janitor closets clean, organized, and safe
- maintain janitorial equipment clean, safe, and operable
- properly label, dilute, and use all chemicals
- wear proper personal protective equipment at all times
- perform other duties as assigned
