Job Requirements

  • High energy, self-starter who is proactive in identifying and soliciting new business
  • must possess superior customer service skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • excellent writing and speaking ability and strong interpersonal skills
  • experienced sales and event rental skills are a must
  • previous team management experience is required
  • should be proficient in the use of a point-of-sale system, Microsoft Office suite, and CRM (Altru)
  • must have flexible working hours, as evening and weekend duty are frequently required

Job Duties

  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of rental events including client solicitation, contracts, and event details
  • creates and manages annual rental revenue goals and a portfolio of over 100 events
  • provides regular rental revenue reports to the Head of Development
  • delivers outstanding customer service to clients throughout rental process
  • maintains current knowledge of pricing standards to grow revenue
  • works with leadership to create and revise rental policies
  • collaborates with event rental vendors to ensure compliance with Museum policies
  • manages client requests for additional rental needs including invoicing
  • oversees part-time Event Specialists ensuring proper onboarding and training
  • manages monthly work schedules to ensure event coverage and serves as backup during absences
  • cultivates relationships with local event planners and businesses to increase bookings
  • oversees departmental budget planning and control
  • oversees visitor experience ensuring excellent customer service across departments
  • manages part-time Visitor Experience Associates with appropriate training
  • maintains knowledge of membership, admission fees, and promotions
  • manages front desk operations and coverage, serving as backup when needed
  • develops and maintains documents and procedures for visitor operations
  • tracks and reports visitor admissions and revenue
  • establishes dress code requirements for visitor team
  • ensures accurate cash handling and transaction procedures
  • maintains confidentiality and positive relationships with Board, staff, volunteers, members, and visitors
  • manages photography program including reservations and inquiries
  • reviews and revises photography policies and pricing
  • solicits additional photography sessions to enhance revenue
  • provides photography revenue tracking
  • facilitates communication between visitor staff and security
  • solicits feedback for process improvements and implements changes
