Job Description
Ryan House is Arizona's sole nonprofit organization dedicated to providing specialized respite, palliative, and end-of-life care for children facing life-threatening conditions in a comfortable, home-like environment. Established in 2004, with its care facility opening in March 2010, Ryan House has rapidly emerged as a pioneer in pediatric palliative care in the region. The organization focuses on alleviating not only the physical pain but also addresses the emotional, spiritual, and social needs of both the child and their family, delivering holistic care during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Ryan House operates in collaboration with Hospice of the Valley, a nationwide leader in hospice care that has been serving the Phoenix metropolitan area since 1977. This partnership enables Ryan House to employ compassionate and highly skilled professionals who share a strong commitment to excellence, teamwork, and upholding the mission and culture of compassionate caring. Employees at Ryan House and Hospice of the Valley benefit from a friendly and supportive work environment, strong leadership support, autonomy, flexible scheduling options, and the opportunity to engage in meaningful, rewarding work that greatly impacts families in need.
The Development and Events Manager at Ryan House is a vital member of the fundraising team responsible for driving campaigns and organizing major events that sustain the organization’s mission. This role entails cultivating corporate and community partnerships while also advancing marketing initiatives including social media outreach. The position requires planning and executing all signature Ryan House events such as the Ryan House Open, Run for Ryan House, and White Christmas, along with managing donor stewardship efforts to ensure the achievement of budget goals and team targets. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Development and Events Manager plays a crucial role in supporting organizational growth through innovative fundraising strategies and effective donor engagement.
This full-time role operates during standard business hours with some flexibility required for weekend and evening events. Ryan House offers competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, flexible schedules to promote work-life balance, and a supportive work culture that values each team member’s contributions. Working at Ryan House means joining a mission-driven nonprofit focused on delivering exceptional pediatric palliative care and making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families within the Arizona community.
