Job Description
The Make Ready Attendant position is a vital role within the Sales Department of an automotive dealership. This role is responsible for ensuring that vehicles are impeccably clean, detailed, and well-presented to create a positive impression on potential customers. As part of a dynamic sales team, the Make Ready Attendant plays a significant part in showcasing the inventory in the best possible condition, thereby supporting the sales efforts of the dealership. Job Requirements
- Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals properly
- Ability to maintain safety and security protocols
- Effective communication skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive physical activities
- Willingness to work in outdoor and vehicle detailing environments
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Job Qualifications

- One year of related experience or training preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions

- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds
Job Duties
- Maintain a safe and secure operation by driving safely, using chemicals and equipment properly, and securing vehicle and facility keys
- Report to the supervisor immediately upon completion of a task for reassignment
- Drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles to wash bay area and display lot, occasionally on the roadway at supervisor's direction
- Wash vehicle exterior using power sprayers, hoses, cleaning solutions, cloths, and brushes
- Apply approved cleaners to auto body, wipe or buff to preserve shine
- Vacuum interior and clean interior surfaces with approved cleaners
- Perform detailed jobs including headlamp restoration, shampooing interiors, painting non-body panel surfaces
- Clean engine compartments with steam-cleaning equipment and cleaning agents
- Return completed vehicles to designated areas and notify supervisor
- Maintain personal cleanliness and refrain from carrying food, drinks, or smoking in vehicles
- Check-in vehicles from transport carriers, park in staging areas, and report transport claims
- Power wash vehicle inventory regularly
- Maintain wash areas and equipment to meet vehicle wash demand
- Manage trash cleanup and secure trash cans around buildings and grounds
