Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • One to two years experience working with clients with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to maintain a flexible working schedule by delegating or filling in for shifts as needed
  • Supervisory experience in a residential setting with planning and organizational skills preferred
  • Ability to clearly communicate, read and write in English
  • Comfort using a computer
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including shoveling, mowing, vacuuming, shopping, and pushing a wheelchair
  • Ability to pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a motor vehicle check
  • Passion for helping individuals feel happy, successful, and safe

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervises a team of employees and volunteers in a residential setting for clients with developmental disabilities, providing direct care as needed
  • Provides guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security and safety to clients
  • Supports and assists clients to develop, enhance, renew or continue their natural support networks
  • Coordinates all on-site operational aspects of the residential services program in compliance with regulations and policies
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises employees and volunteers to provide care and implement programs enhancing clients' quality of life
  • Responds to site emergency situations and participates in E-Cell rotation, advising employees and arranging for care or treatment
  • Develops and monitors client care plans, prepares reports and documentation, and maintains financial records
