Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- Seven years of progressively complex administrative experience with at least three years in supervisory roles
- Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Compliance with City of Houston driving policies

- Seven years of progressively responsible administrative experience including three years of supervisory experience
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to lead large teams and manage multi-million dollar budgets
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of solid waste management operations preferred
- Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or public service operations is advantageous
- Bilingual candidates with proficiency in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Hindi preferred
Job Duties
- Lead, manage, and direct activities of managers and employees
- Oversee a fleet of 72 solid waste vehicles and coordinate waste disposal operations
- Train, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure service continuity and leadership succession
- Prepare, implement, and manage an annual operating budget of approximately $5 million
- Act as a liaison between the department and other city agencies, government bodies, and private sectors
- Monitor and control waste disposal streams for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Respond to customer service requests and ensure high-level customer satisfaction
