Job Duties

  • Directly responsible for staffing, succession planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, and ongoing development of department team members
  • responsible for WCT training in the department and maintaining department training certification
  • develops direct reports by creating action and development plans when necessary
  • coordinates with other department managers on hiring decisions
  • creates weekly department schedules within budgeted labor guidelines
  • creates, develops, and implements incentive programs and contests for department
  • actively motivates team members to participate in company promotions and incentives
  • provides regular performance feedback including performance appraisals and development plans
  • administers semi-annual merit increase process
  • assists General Manager with coaching other managers on performance management
  • oversees MIT training during training weeks
  • assists General Manager with performance management and development of Bar, Hospitality, and Assistant Managers
  • utilizes support teams and subject matter experts as necessary
  • provides coaching and follow-up to ensure service standards and guest experience
  • conducts departmental meetings to communicate successes and areas of opportunity
  • ensures all team members have current state required training
  • actively seeks techniques to attract new guests
  • responsible for restaurant's guest comment program ensuring timely handling of food quality complaints
  • facilitates food product rollout adherence, ensures team members meet quality standards, manages vendor relationships
  • communicates areas of opportunity to management and team members
  • oversees inventory control and adherence to menu specs and systems
  • analyzes restaurant performance tools and implements action plans
  • conducts administrative functions such as entering invoices and end of day procedures
  • monitors equipment and reports maintenance needs
  • operates department consistent with health and safety standards
  • manages bar product rollouts, inventory, and vendor accountability
  • manages bar cost controls and labor results
  • aggressively manages waste, comps, voids, and discounts
  • assists with the execution of local restaurant marketing programs
  • creates sales building incentives and contests
  • troubleshoots problem areas and implements corrective action plans
  • maintains proper inventory levels and ensures accurate inventory auditing
  • understands and acts on P&L statements
  • completes other assigned duties or tasks as required
