Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel extensively within Florida
  • At least 6 years of verifiable related experience in film and video production marketing communications public relations or related field or equivalent post-secondary degree
  • Ability to work independently in field environments often in variable weather conditions
  • Successful completion of background screening as a Position of Special Trust
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of verifiable related experience in film and video production marketing communications public relations or a related field
  • Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university with a major in film and video production marketing communications public relations or a related field of study may be used as an alternative for required years of experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Knowledge of professional videography and photography techniques particularly in outdoor and natural-resource settings
  • Knowledge of video and photo editing software and multimedia production platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe After Effects Adobe Media Encoder Adobe Audition Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment operation maintenance and field production best practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with park staff program managers and communications professionals
  • Ability to visually present information in a clear engaging and accurate manner
  • Knowledge of digital asset management principles including file organization metadata tagging and archiving best practices

Job Duties

  • Plan shoot and edit video and photographic content showcasing Florida's state parks Florida's aquatic preserves and related department programs for digital platforms websites social media outreach campaigns and archival use
  • Serve as a primary field videographer and photographer capturing park landscapes aquatic environments recreational activities restoration projects staff operations public events and professional headshots throughout the state
  • Develop visual concepts shot lists and production plans
  • Produce short and long-form video content including promotional features interviews b-roll packages and informational videos supporting public engagement and education
  • Perform post-production editing color correction audio mixing and formatting for multiple platforms and audiences
  • Assist with graphic or visual design tasks as needed to support video and photographic deliverables
  • Maintain organize and curate the department's repository of existing photographs b-roll and video assets
  • Ensure photo and video assets are properly cataloged tagged archived and backed up in accordance with department standards and records retention requirements
  • Review update and refresh existing visual assets to support ongoing communications marketing and outreach needs
  • Coordinate with the Office of Communications and program staff to identify gaps in existing photo and video coverage and prioritize future content capture
  • Manage maintain and operate department audiovisual equipment including cameras lenses lighting audio gear and related software
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
