Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of related experience
  • Ability to greet, direct and interview patients
  • Skill in entering demographic data into computer systems
  • Capability to answer telephone calls and handle inquiries
  • Competence in scheduling patient appointments
  • Capacity to manage financial transactions and work with insurance companies
  • Availability for additional HIPAA and infection control training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of related experience
  • Proficiency in handling computerized patient information systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and infection control
  • Customer service experience

Job Duties

  • Greet, direct and interview patients
  • Enter demographic data in the computerized patient information system
  • Answer telephone calls and handle inquiries
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Compile patient charts
  • Serve as cashier, accept payments from patients, enter financial data into computer, issue receipts, balance cash drawer at end of day, set up payment contracts, work with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations, track payments and troubleshoot issues
  • Additional HIPAA / privacy training upon hiring
  • Infection Control training
