Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- valid California driver's license and clean driving record if driving mobile clinic
- preferred previous experience with patients in medical or dental settings
- ability to resolve patient questions and concerns
- previous knowledge of automated scheduling systems
- minimum of 3 months cash handling and balancing experience
- ability to operate general business equipment
- knowledge of grammar, spelling, and medical terminology
- understanding of healthcare insurance and terminology
- ability to sort and file records by alphabet or terminal digit
- ability to handle cash transactions and balance cash drawers
- highly organized with strong time management skills
- bilingual in English and Spanish
- interpersonal and cultural sensitivity
- ability to drive large mobile clinic as needed (preferred)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- bilingual in English and Spanish without the need for an interpreter
- previous experience in a medical or dental office preferred
- ability to resolve patient questions and concerns
- proficiency with automated scheduling systems
- cash handling and balancing experience
- knowledge of medical and dental terminology
- general knowledge of healthcare insurance
- strong time management and organizational skills
- interpersonal and cultural sensitivity
- computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact for new and returning dental patients
- answer phones and respond to general inquiries
- greet patients upon arrival and provide excellent customer service
- schedule patient appointments and assist with forms
- resolve issues related to appointments, insurance, and fees
- enter and update patient electronic medical and dental records
- connect patients to dental providers and provide informed answers on dental health
