Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • ability to greet and interview patients professionally
  • strong computer skills including data entry
  • ability to handle cash and financial transactions accurately
  • excellent communication skills
  • willingness to complete additional HIPAA and infection control training
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work full time

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to operate computerized information systems
  • proficiency in handling cash and financial transactions
  • knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices preferred
  • ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet, direct and interview patients
  • enter demographic data in the computerized patient information system
  • answer telephone calls and handle inquiries
  • schedule patient appointments
  • compile patient charts
  • serve as cashier by accepting payments from patients, entering financial data into computer, issuing receipts, balancing cash drawer at end of day, setting up payment contracts, working with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations, tracking payments and troubleshooting issues
  • complete additional HIPAA/privacy training and infection control training upon hiring
