Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • current CPR/basic life support certification required
  • bilingual/biliterate English/Spanish required
  • knowledge of dental terminology and minimum 1 year of dental office experience required
  • excellent customer service skills
  • proficiency with Windows and Dentrix computer systems
  • ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • commitment to organizational goals
  • flexibility and adaptability to office needs
  • up to date with COVID-19 vaccines per current CDC guidelines strongly recommended

Job Duties

  • Dental reception/patient check-in/out duties
  • during the COVID-19 pandemic, perform screener duties including ensuring individuals are properly screened for infectious disease and enforcing use of personal protective equipment/masks
  • greet patients and visitors promptly, courteously and respectfully
  • answer phones, provide information, take messages or direct calls to appropriate individuals
  • check patients in, update information and verify insurance eligibility
  • schedule and confirm appointments
  • follow up with patients who have missed appointments and reschedule as appropriate
  • post patient payments and print information for patients as needed
  • maintain the lobby in an orderly manner
  • assist with various administrative functions of the center as appropriate and as time permits
  • participate in health promotion/disease prevention activities onsite and offsite
  • participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives
  • perform other related necessary tasks as directed by supervisor
  • other duties as assigned and requested
