Job Requirements

  • requires high school degree or GED
  • graduate from accredited dental assisting program
  • radiology, infection control, and jurisprudence certification required
  • CPR certification required
  • one year dental assisting experience preferred
  • bilingual Spanish preferred
  • ability to perform four-handed dental assisting
  • must hold and maintain proper professional standards and licensing
  • finger dexterity for small movements
  • capacity for repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers
  • physically able to stand and walk most of the day
  • able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • able to meet attendance requirements
  • must not pose a health or safety threat
  • deliver excellent customer service

Job Qualifications

  • high school degree or GED
  • graduate from accredited dental assisting program
  • radiology certification
  • infection control certification
  • jurisprudence certification
  • CPR certified
  • preferred one year dental assisting experience
  • bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • four-handed dental assisting skills
  • nitrous oxide exam certification preferred
  • maintain required professional credentials to comply with Federal Torts Claims Act

Job Duties

  • assist the dentist using four-handed dentistry
  • assist the dentist with patient management including instrument transfer, isolation, oral evacuation, retraction, and preparation of materials
  • chart examination and treatment results on patient dental records
  • maintain autoclave, ultrasonic, and other dental equipment
  • ensure monitoring logs for infection control are accurately completed
  • prepare, sterilize, and set up dental operatory and instruments according to OSHA guidelines
  • review and document vital signs and medical history at initial seating
  • instruct patients on oral hygiene, nutritional counseling, and post-operative care
  • maintain adequate inventory and follow supply ordering protocols
  • travel independently to other locations as needed
  • perform other related duties as assigned
